Learning how to create and sell software as a start up business idea

Hello Everybody,
Before I begin, I want to give full credit to Ethan and his YouTube channel. This is my summary of his work. Please check him out because he has some great content.
This week, while I researching selling software as a service, there was a YouTube video that caught my attention by Ethan that was called "I made $343,721 in 2 months with a new business | copy me." I found the information to be beneficial; I wanted to share with all of you my thoughts and insights and give you a quick rundown of the process that Ethan used to make over six figures in just four months from sign software as a service so let's get right into the video.
The video stated that he had no experience in the software industry and knew relatively little. His knowledge and expertise came from creating and scaling e-commerce businesses, focusing on organic traffic as his main form of traffic. However, he claimed he made a saas without coding and eventually sold the software 4 months later for 343,271 to another tech company by using this process:
choose an established competitor
Find a hole in the competitor's strategy.
Create Saas by searching "saas full stack" on Fiver.
Advertise and scale service.
Sell after the peak of the season.
Choose an established competitor.
Choosing a competitor to best your brand off of is the most essential part of this whole process. The central part of Ethan's strategy was to find a competitor that tends to make money in certain seasons of the year. He meant that there are times during the year when this software will make more money than the other parts of the year. The example that he used is he used in AI software that will be able to scan a page and answer questions on the page. He said this was a good example because it would make more money when school is in session, and since he discovered this program right before school was about to start in August, he decided it was a good program to replicate.

Find a hole in the competitor's strategy.
He said that while doing a complete study on this competitor, he noticed that this company did not do a lot of marketing on TikTok. He thought this was an oversight on his competitor's part because many school and college students are on TikTok.
Create Saas by searching "saas full stack" on Fiver.

When starting a company like this, Fiver is one of the best tools because many freelancers offer a full-stack service where they will create the software for your company and all the branding. Now, it's not professional software or professional branding, But this is best for our goal, which is to sell set software to a more prominent company.
When going onto Fiverr, it's essential to search SAAS full stack because that is the complete service used to make the software and branding. When looking through Fivers's page, it's vital to choose a freelancer with many high ratings as well. Let's face it: most of the time, if you choose a cheap service, you will get a cheap product on Fiverr. But once you choose the right freelancer for you, you'll give them a description of what software you'd like them to create and ask them to create it. The description is fundamental because the more detail you put into a said description, the less the freelancer has to guess, and the higher quality product you'll get is more like what you envision.
Advertise and scale service.
Now that you have your software right before whatever peak season your software has, you want to create as much traffic to your website and service as possible. In the video, Ethan emphasized using organic traffic to market your product.
The channel Ethan used for marketing was TikTok. One evening, he went to an empty College classroom and spent hours filming many advertisement videos for TikTok so that he would have enough content to advertise his software for a couple of months. His focus was making short-form Videos and engaging content to increase organic traffic to his website. He knew his niche was college students, so he mainly advertised to young adults, primarily in college.
Sell after the peak of the season.
After just a few months of advertising on TikTok and other social media platforms, he had already gained numerous subscribers. He was making over 5000 a month from the software. This was good, but he realized that this was not the full potential of what he could make from the software, so after finding a lot of success, he posted the software on acquire.com, which is the best website for selling software for businesses. Within two weeks, he could sell it for over $300,000, which is enormous for only four months of work on this business.
Takeaways:
I found this story very inspiring. It shows many ways to be successful when you have business skills and an entrepreneurial drive. Once again, Ethan said he had no idea anything about selling software; however, because of his previous marketing knowledge, he could sell the software for over $300,000 in just a couple of months. He concluded that learning how to market is the most important and practical skill in 2024. Whether through e-commerce, affiliate marketing, or starting a roofing company, if you know how to market, you will be successful. Throughout this video, Ethan emphasized how important it was to know organic traffic because organic traffic is one of the best ways to market in 2025 because of how many display ads and social media advertising there are. Learning how to bring organic traffic to a business will make that business a booming success.
It also emphasizes how popular software is in this day and age. The invention of artificial intelligence software as a service is one of the most lucrative markets out there, so if you're looking for a niche to go into You're not too sure what to do, consider looking into selling software because many companies are looking to automate their systems. Many Customers are looking to learn how to use AI to solve everyday problems. Being successful in business is all about finding solutions to problems.
